National Prevention Week

National Prevention Week (NPW) is a week in May that promotes prevention to help individuals and communities make substance use prevention happen every day.  The YAC helps plan & implements activities for NPW. 

Community The Anti-Drug (CTAD)​

CTAD is a youth drug prevention coalition serving Highland Park, Highwood, Bannockburn, Deerfield, and Riverwoods. Parents, schools and community organizations work together to help youth feel protected, confident and empowered to make drug-free choices. 

Youth Prevention Education

Youth Prevention Education is an in-classroom/virtual based strategy to increase prevention-related drug knowledge and resistance skills among youth. In District 106, we use an evidence-based curriculum, Too Good for Drugs, from The Mendez Foundation.

Youth Advisory Council

The YAC is a student wellness group committed to promoting and advocating for their peers to make healthy lifestyle choices. YAC students plan and implement a variety of initiatives throughout the school year that focus on underage drinking and substance use prevention. 

Illinois Youth Survey

The Illinois Youth Survey (IYS) is the survey tool we use to measure a variety of health topics (substance use, mental health, nutrition, etc.)  so we are able to evaluate our efforts and address areas of concern.
